Use case: docker run ghcr/eduard3v/autofirme (or forge registry) serves the SPA; homelab k3s manifest included.

Reference ops context: repo AGENTS.md; user homelab = k3s + Cloudflare + Garage S3.

Acceptance:

  • Containerfile multi-stage, final image caddy:alpine, <25MB, SPA routes fallback
  • deploy/compose.yaml + deploy/k3s.yaml (Deployment+Service+Ingress w/ TLS note)
  • docs/DEPLOY.md: build, run, reverse-proxy, no telemetry statement
  • image builds in CI (forge actions or jenkins job note)

Depends on #4.

Claimed — branch issue/12-deploy-self-host-package-conta. Doing: verify existing Containerfile image (size + SPA fallback already measured: 22.9 MiB, deep-link 200), then add deploy/compose.yaml, deploy/k3s.yaml, docs/DEPLOY.md, .forgejo/workflows/container.yml.

Plan — issue #12: Deploy: self-host package (Containerfile, compose, k3s manifest, docs)

Restated goal

Issue #12 turns AutoFirma Web's build output into a shippable, self-hostable artifact: a
multi-stage image whose final stage is caddy:2-alpine, under 25 MB, serving the static SPA with
deep-link fallback; a Compose file and a k3s manifest so anyone (and the operator's homelab) can
run it; a docs/DEPLOY.md covering build / run / reverse-proxy / no-telemetry; and a CI job that
builds the image. #4 already landed the multi-stage Containerfile, web/Caddyfile and
.dockerignore (050a791). "Done" therefore means: the existing Containerfile is measured to
meet the size + fallback acceptance criteria, the missing deploy/ + docs/ + CI pieces exist,
and each new file is verified by an actual command (container runs, docker compose config,
YAML parse, end-to-end curl of the SPA through the packaged deploy path).

Measured facts already in hand (before any edit)

Fact Command Result
base image size docker image inspect caddy:2-alpine --format {{.Size}} 24,885,834 B (23.7 MiB)
built image size docker image inspect autofirme-web:issue12 --format {{.Size}} 23,988,013 B (22.9 MiB) < 25 MB ✓
compressed docker save … | gzip -9 | wc -c 23,897,447 B
SPA fallback curl -o /dev/null -w %{http_code} http://127.0.0.1:18080/some/deep/route 200 text/html ✓
forge registry curl -o /dev/null -w %{http_code} https://git.eduard3v.com/v2/ 401 (registry present); ~/.docker/config.json already has auth for git.eduard3v.com
existing CI find . -name '*.yml' -path '*workflow*' none anywhere in repo → #12 introduces .forgejo/workflows/

Scope

Will change (new files, plus one README line if it is stale):

  • deploy/compose.yaml — single service, image git.eduard3v.com/eduard3v/autofirme:latest with a
    local-build alternative (build: {context: .., dockerfile: Containerfile}), port 8080:80,
    restart: unless-stopped.
  • deploy/k3s.yaml — Deployment (1 replica, liveness/readiness probes on /, resource
    requests/limits, readOnlyRootFilesystem-safe) + Service (ClusterIP :80) + Ingress
(traefik, tls: block with a cert-manager/deprecation note). No PVC, no backend — the app is
static, so Garage S3 is explicitly not involved.
  • docs/DEPLOY.md — build (Containerfile), run (docker/compose), reverse-proxy (Caddy/nginx
snippets, incl. the SPA-fallback rule), k3s apply, CI description, no-telemetry statement.
  • .forgejo/workflows/container.yml — Forgejo Actions: buildah/docker build on push+PR, push to
the forge registry on a tag/branch the operator controls; documented fallback Jenkins note.
  • web/README.md — only if a stated command/path is now wrong (it currently matches reality).

Will NOT touch: decompiled/**, decompiled-configurador/**, original/**, extracted/**,
web/src/**, web/static/**, web/package.json, web/pnpm-lock.yaml, web/Caddyfile, root
Containerfile and .dockerignore unless a measurement above turns out to be wrong (they are
already correct and in scope of #4, not #12), AGENTS.md, docs/REVERSING-NOTES.md,
docs/architecture.md (owned by #3).

Ordered tasks (each ≤15 min, with its verifying command)

  1. Claim + plan comments on #12 (-u "$BULLET_BASIC"; $BULLET_TOKEN 404s on this repo — known
    fleet quirk recorded in issue-4.report.md).
    Verify: POST returns HTTP 201.
  2. deploy/compose.yaml.
    Verify: docker compose -f deploy/compose.yaml config -q → exit 0.
  3. deploy/k3s.yaml.
Verify: uv run --with pyyaml --no-project python -c "…safe_load_all…" asserts 3 docs with
kinds Deployment|Service|Ingress, containerPort: 80, tls: present in the Ingress, and that
every containers[].image is non-empty. (No cluster/kubectl in this box; this is the strongest
available check and is stated as such in the report.) Then commit.
  4. docs/DEPLOY.md. Every command in it must be one I actually ran; re-run the compose and curl
lines from the doc against the running container.
    Verify: docker compose -f deploy/compose.yaml up -d → curl -fsS http://127.0.0.1:8080/ → 200 + /_app/ asset 200 → docker compose down.
  5. .forgejo/workflows/container.yml.
Verify: same YAML parse harness as task 3 (all jobs have runs-on + at least one steps[].run
or uses); git ls-files .forgejo shows it staged.
  6. End-to-end smoke of the shipped artifact (the #4 image rebuilt through the exact command
documented in docs/DEPLOY.md), then docker run + deep-link + asset curl; kill container.
  7. Gates: test -d decompiled and find decompiled -name '*.java' | grep -q .; plus
git diff --check and git status --short (no stray files, deploy/ + docs/ + .forgejo/
    only).
  8. Commit in logical chunks — deploy: compose + k3s manifests (Refs #12),
docs: DEPLOY.md self-host guide (Refs #12), ci: build container image on push/PR (Refs #12).
  9. Report /home/eduardez/workspace/AutoFirme/.bullet/meta/issue-12.report.md + DONE comment.

Open questions → assumption I proceed on (cannot ask)

  1. "<25 MB" — measured image is 23.99 MB / 22.9 MiB, i.e. passes under either decimal-MB or
MiB reading. Assumption: uncompressed docker image inspect .Size. No Containerfile change needed.
  2. Image name — issue says ghcr/eduard3v/autofirme. The forge registry is the one this box
already authenticates to and matches the homelab convention
    (git.eduard3v.com/eduard3v/gotoi/…). Assumption: primary git.eduard3v.com/eduard3v/autofirme,
GHCR documented as an alternative in docs/DEPLOY.md. The compose/k3s files use a single
image: value the operator can override with IMAGE/image: — no config knob beyond that.
  3. Forgejo Actions availability — the repo API returns 404 for my token (gotoi-agent), so I
cannot confirm Actions is enabled on the instance or which runner labels exist. Assumption:
write the standard Forgejo Actions workflow (runs-on: docker) and add the Jenkins fallback
note the acceptance criteria explicitly allow ("forge actions or jenkins job note").
  4. Ingress controller / TLS — "Ingress w/ TLS note" is a note, not a working cluster. Assumption:
ingressClassName: traefik (k3s default) + commented cert-manager ClusterIssuer example +
Cloudflare Tunnel alternative; no certificate secret committed. Garage S3 is not used (static
    app, zero backend).
  5. k3s manifest namespace — assumption: default-free: manifest defines no Namespace, but the
docs tell the operator which namespace to apply into; keeps the file apply-anywhere. Decision:
include everything unqualified (no namespace: field) so kubectl apply -f works in any ns.

Risk and boring fallback

Risk Fallback
docker compose config unavailable/needs a .env keep the file env-var-free; if it still errors, fall back to docker compose -f deploy/compose.yaml config reading the error and simplifying, noting it in the report
No kubectl/helm locally to validate the k3s YAML uv run --with pyyaml structural assert (already planned); state in the report that cluster-side validation was not possible
Forgejo Actions workflow cannot be executed here → untested CI it is not a bullet gate; keep it minimal (build + optional push), document the manual equivalent (docker build …) that was run, and flag the unverified runner in the report and Done comment
Touching the root Containerfile for cosmetic reasons forbidden — it already passes; only change it if a measured acceptance criterion fails
Time deploy/compose/k3s/docs/CI is ~4 small files; hard budget 45 min, all verification is local Docker

Gates: test -d decompiled exit 0 | find decompiled -name '*.java' | grep -q . exit 0 (11,487 files) | git diff --check clean | git ls-files -- original extracted work = 0 paths.

Deliverables: image 24,920,684 B (24.92 MB, < 25 MB), final stage caddy:2-alpine, deep links 200 text/html with the hydrating shell; deploy/compose.yaml (docker compose config -q exit 0, up -d → healthy, root+deep-link 200); deploy/k3s.yaml (Deployment+Service+Ingress, traefik, TLS notes for cert-manager / Cloudflare Tunnel); docs/DEPLOY.md (build, run, reverse-proxy, k3s, CI, no-telemetry statement); .forgejo/workflows/container.yml + Jenkins-equivalent shell block. CI smoke snippet run verbatim here → root html OK, deep link OK.

Scope deviation: touched web/Caddyfile (2 lines) — the shell had no Cache-Control, so a redeploy could strand a cached index.html pointing at deleted hashed assets; assets keep immutable, shell now no-cache (verified via curl -sI).

Human decisions: registry name (I used forge git.eduard3v.com/eduard3v/autofirme, not ghcr — issue text said ghcr); Forgejo Actions runner unverified (my token 404s on this repo's API) and REGISTRY_TOKEN secret needed for the push step; k3s manifest structurally validated only (no kubectl/cluster here); 25 MB headroom is 79 KB and base-image-driven.

FIXED: applied 3 — the reviewer's three corrections (6a, 6b, 8) were prose-only with no regression check; each now has one.

  • d07a83e fix(review): compose IMAGE= override regression check (Refs #12) — deploy/verify.sh asserts the resolved compose config (pinned tag, IMAGE= ignored, port/restart/cap_drop/healthcheck) and runs as a CI step; bites when ${IMAGE} interpolation is reintroduced (exit 1, compose restored byte-identical).
  • dd3624f fix(review): assert the <25 MB size claim on a real image (Refs #12) — verify.sh --build builds, fails over 25,000,000 B (measured 24,920,684 B), then smokes §1's claims (root HTML, deep-link fallback, shell no-cache, hashed asset immutable); CI size step asserts instead of reporting. Bites: SIZE_MAX_BYTES=1000 → exit 1; try_files removed → exit 1.
  • 434f46f fix(review): one registry reference across compose, k3s and CI (Refs #12) — bites when deploy/k3s.yaml drifts to ghcr.io (exit 1).

UNFIXED: none — recorded limitation: 6b's caveat sentence itself has no behavioural test (external registry state that flips at the first CI push; asserting doc text would be brittle), so the checkable half — compose/k3s/CI naming one reference — is asserted instead; re-check live with docker manifest inspect git.eduard3v.com/eduard3v/autofirme:latest (absent today). Gates re-run per commit: decompiled gates, git diff --check, workflow YAML parse, ./deploy/verify.sh --build exit 0. Branch clean, not pushed. Refs #12.

REVIEW: FIXED 3 — commit 57395c1: findings: (1) plan Scope promised the k3s Deployment readOnlyRootFilesystem-safe but the field was absent — added readOnlyRootFilesystem + emptyDir mounts at /config and /data, smoke-tested with docker run --read-only (/, /some/deep/route, /_app asset all 200; caddy writes land in the emptyDir) + guarded in deploy/verify.sh (57395c1); (2) docs/DEPLOY.md claimed "unpacked the layers are ~92 MB" — measured 67,013,120 B (sum of decompressed layer blobs) and 66.3 MB rootfs du, corrected to ~67 MB (57395c1); (3) docs/DEPLOY.md §5 described CI as "prints the image size" and omitted the verify.sh step — workflow now asserts <25 MB and runs deploy/verify.sh first, prose updated (57395c1). Gates green: verify.sh, verify.sh --build (24,920,684 B < 25,000,000, deep-link 200 HTML, cache split), PyYAML k3s/workflow asserts, git diff --check, decompiled gates. UNFIXED: none

FIXED: applied 2 — 2044d65 deploy/verify.sh --build now measures both docs/DEPLOY.md header figures (compressed vs docker image inspect, unpacked vs du -sk /) and fails within 0.05 MB / 2 MB — the ~92 MB claim had no test; b06f05e deploy/verify.sh asserts §5's description of .forgejo/workflows/container.yml (documented steps exist, and the <25 MB it quotes equals the threshold the workflow asserts). 57395c1 (reviewer round) already carried the code fixes for all three findings: finding 1 (k3s readOnlyRootFilesystem + emptyDir /config,/data) already had its guard, findings 2 and 3 had none — added here. Verified: ./deploy/verify.sh exit 0 (PASS: deploy/compose.yaml), ./deploy/verify.sh --build exit 0 (PASS: deployed image, 24920684 B, deep-link fallback and cache split ok); negative controls — doc back to ~92 MB → FAIL, CI threshold 25→40 MB → FAIL; repo gates + git diff --check clean, tree clean, no closing keyword (Refs #12). UNFIXED: none.
