Goal

End-to-end proof with the REAL cert (work/certs/old-cert.p12), not the generated test fixture.

Credential handling (HARD RULES)

Real PIN lives in .p12pass (gitignored, chmod 600). NEVER print, echo, commit, or copy its contents into code, logs, tests, or issue comments.
Scripts must read it at runtime: PIN=$(tr -d "[:space:]" < .p12pass).
If .p12pass is missing, skip gracefully with a clear message (do not fail CI).
work/ is gitignored: certs, outputs, and try-pins.sh live there.

Tasks

scripts/smoke-real.sh (gitignored? no — script committed, secrets runtime-read):
- input: a sample PDF (or generate tiny placeholder pdf via pdf-lib already in deps)
- sign work/certs/old-cert.p12 with PIN from .p12pass using the existing PAdES path (#23) — but this cert needs OpenSSL -legacy (pbeWithSHA1And3-KeyTripleDES-CBC, MAC sha1); check if Node/WebCrypto path handles it, else pre-convert keystore with openssl pkcs12 -legacy into a temp modern-AES p12 (temp only, never committed)
- verify the produced signature (existing verify path) and dump signature validity

Docs: add a short section to README or docs/ on running the real-cert smoke test + that .p12pass is required, never committed

Plan — issue #35: real-cert smoke test (sign + verify with real FNMT .p12)

Restated goal

Prove, end to end and with the real FNMT keystore (work/certs/old-cert.p12), that the shipped
PAdES path (#23) can sign a PDF and that the shipped verifier accepts the result. A committed
scripts/smoke-real.sh drives it; the real PIN is read at runtime from .p12pass (gitignored,
mode 600, never printed/committed/copied into code or logs). Missing .p12pass or container ⇒
skip notice + exit 0, so CI stays green. No UI, no MCP, no new dependencies. Docs get a short
section on how to run it and on the PIN rule.

"Done" = pnpm test green, pnpm build clean, bash scripts/smoke-real.sh exits 0 and prints
a verifiable signature (app verifier + independent openssl cms -verify) when .p12pass and the
real container are present, and the diff is scoped to the script + docs + .gitignore.

State found in the worktree (prior session, commits `9bb8c8b`, `b2485d6`)

Already present and committed on issue/35-real-cert-smoke-test-sign-veri:

scripts/smoke-real.sh — wrapper: skip-guards, legacy re-wrap, invokes the Node driver, then
cross-checks with openssl cms -verify.

src/lib/pades.ts, dumps COS-level signature facts, runs src/lib/verify.
scripts/ts-hook.mjs — Node resolver hook so the driver can import the app's extensionless TS.

No plan file, no report, and the issue comments API is unreachable for this token (404 on
/repos/EduarD3V/AutoFirme/*), so the Claim/Plan/Done comments cannot be posted; they are recorded
in this file and in the report instead.

(measured: it duplicates every certificate, 3 → 6 in the resulting CMS).

Open questions (assumptions taken)

PIN source. .p12pass is absent from the worktree but present in the operator's checkout
(/home/eduardez/workspace/AutoFirme/.p12pass). Assumption: the worktree needs its own copy to
be runnable, so it was copied in with install -m 600 (contents never read into any output) and
left in place — it is gitignored and mode 600. Never printed, never committed.
work/try-pins.sh. The issue says it "already exists — leave as-is"; it exists nowhere in
this worktree or in the operator's work/ (only old-cert.p12). Assumption: the PIN is already
known, no need to re-derive it → nothing created, noted in the report.
pnpm test count. The issue says 96/96; the suite is now 120 tests (14 files) and all pass.
Assumption: "green at the current count" is the intent.
Legacy crypto. The container really is PBES1 (pbeWithSHA1And3-KeyTripleDES-CBC, MAC sha1).
Assumption: keep the re-wrap step (WebCrypto has no DES and src/lib/pkcs12.ts refuses PBES1 by
design), plus the -legacy retry for OpenSSL 3 without the legacy provider enabled by default.
Issue comments. Token gotoi-agent cannot see EduarD3V/AutoFirme (404). Assumption: the
fleet/orchestrator handles the issue thread; plan and report go to the .bullet/meta files.

Risk / boring fallback

Re-wrap breaks on an OpenSSL without the legacy provider → script already reports a clear error
and exits non-zero; fallback is the documented manual openssl pkcs12 -legacy … -nodes + -export
(README).
Duplication fix changes the CMS contents → re-run the smoke test; if the app verifier or openssl
rejects the 3-cert CMS, revert the fix and keep the (benign) duplicates, noting it in the report.
Smoke script touching the network (CRL/OCSP): it does not — verifyArtifact runs offline here.
