Goal

Study issue. Enumerate what the REAL AutoFirma 1.9 can do (decompiled core is in git tag reference/decompile-1.9 — git show reference/decompile-1.9:decompiled/... or checkout paths; see docs/REVERSING-NOTES.md) and write docs/USE-CASES.md: every user-facing use case, the implementing Java packages, our repo status (done / partial / missing), and which missing ones matter for a full replacement.

Known starting points (verify against source, do not trust this list)

  • Sign document (PDF/PAdES, XML/XAdES, binary/CAdES, ODF/OOXML)
  • Co-signature (multiple signers on same doc), counter-signature (sign the signature)
  • Visible signature block on PDF (image/text, position, page)
  • RFC3161 timestamp (TSA)
  • Verify tool (batch), hash/validate utility
  • Multi-file/folder batch signing
  • Safari/Windows/Java integration specifics (NOT goals — browser replaces them)

Output

  • docs/USE-CASES.md matrix committed
  • Issue comment: prioritized gap list (P0 = required for full replacement) — the operator turns P0s into new issues

Gates

docs build/test untouched; matrix cites decompiled paths as evidence.

Plan — #41 Explore true AutoFirma use cases → docs/USE-CASES.md

Restated goal

Enumerate what the real AutoFirma 1.9 (jadx tree of tag reference/decompile-1.9) can do for a
user
— GUI actions, CLI commands, browser-protocol operations, keystores, formats, crypto
operations and secondary utilities — and record it as docs/USE-CASES.md: one row per use case with
the implementing Java package/class (file:line evidence), our repo status
(DONE / PARTIAL / MISSING / OUT-OF-SCOPE / N/A-browser), and a P0/P1/P2 priority for the
missing ones. Done = the matrix file is committed, every cited decompiled path resolves in the tag,
and the issue carries a short prioritized gap list (P0 = required for a full replacement) that the
operator can turn into issues.

Scope

Will change (exactly one file):

  • docs/USE-CASES.md — new.

Will not touch (fidelity contract):

  • anything under src/, test/, scripts/, static/, mcp/
  • docs/architecture.md, docs/REVERSING-NOTES.md, docs/MCP-DESIGN.md,
docs/check-architecture-doc.py (the matrix links to them; never edits them)
  • README.md, AGENTS.md, PRODUCT.md, package.json, vite.config.ts, Caddyfile,
    Containerfile, .gitignore
  • no commit of work/ (scratch, gitignored) or any decompiled* tree
  • no src/ feature work — this issue produces analysis, not code

Method (evidence)

git archive reference/decompile-1.9 decompiled | tar -x -C work/ # 83 MB, no index pollution

work/decompiled/sources/** is the citation base. Every row cites path:line relative to that
directory; nothing is cited from memory or from the issue body. Statements that go beyond what a
file literally shows (reachability, "not reachable from the GUI") are marked [INFERENCE] with the
search that backs them.

Ordered tasks

# Task Verify command
1 Extract the tree to work/, confirm it is the right one ls work/decompiled/sources/es/gob/afirma
2 Inventory entry points + operations (CLI enum, CLI params, afirma:// URIs, plugin ops, massive enum) cat/grep -n on standalone/CommandLineCommand.java, standalone/CommandLineLauncher.java, standalone/protocol/ProtocolInvocationLauncher.java, core/misc/protocol/UrlParameters*.java, standalone/plugins/SignOperation.java
3 Inventory format/crypto/keystore capabilities from signers/ + keystores/ + docs/architecture.md grep -rn in those trees
4 Resolve the open questions below (TSA reachability, hash utility, massive reachability, viewer validation) with targeted greps grep -rn "tsaURL|afirma.massive|SignValiderFactory"
5 Determine our repo status per use case from src/lib/**, src/routes/**, README.md ls src/lib, grep -n in src/lib/*.ts
6 Write docs/USE-CASES.md (matrix + gap priorities) python3 scripts/check-use-cases-paths.py (throwaway, below)
7 Commit; verify the citation checker and the diff are clean git commit; git diff --check; git status --short

Throwaway citation checker (not committed, lives in work/): parses decompiled/...:<line> out of
docs/USE-CASES.md and asserts each path exists in work/decompiled/sources/ and each cited line
is ≤ the file's line count.

pnpm test # not required by this issue (no code touched) — run only if time allows

Configured gates are empty (bullet.yaml: gates: []), so the floor is git diff --check.

Open questions and the assumption I proceed on

  1. Is RFC 3161 timestamping reachable from the 1.9 GUI?
Assumption: no GUI switch exists; TSA is reachable only through the tsaURL extra param,
which the CLI (-config) and the afirma:// protocol (properties param) can inject, and the
viewer can display existing timestamps. Evidence pending in task 4; if a GUI toggle turns up,
I record it as GUI-reachable instead.
  2. Does the CLI expose a hash utility?
Assumption: -hformat/-halgorithm exist as parsed parameters but no 1.9 code path consumes
them (getHashFormat has no caller outside its own class), and massive/DirectorySignatureHelper
is unreferenced from standalone/. So "hash utility" is not a 1.9 user feature; noted as a
dead parameter rather than a use case.
  3. What counts as "batch"?
Assumption: two distinct things — (a) GUI multi-file signing (SignPanelMultiFilePanel, files
signed one by one), and (b) the remote batch client (batchsign CLI, op=batch protocol,
BatchSigner against -preurl/-posturl of an @firma server). Our src/lib/batch.ts maps to
    (a) with a ZIP+manifest of its own; (b) is missing and needs a server, so P2.
  4. Priority scheme for the gap list.
    Assumption: P0 = a user-facing capability a "full replacement" of AutoFirma 1.9 must have
    browser-side (formats, cosign/countersign, TSA, validation/verification UX, keystore reach);
P1 = needed for parity but with a workaround; P2 = replaced by the web architecture itself
(smart cards, OS stores, plugins, updater, configurator) or a server dependency.
  5. Is docs/USE-CASES.md linked from anywhere?
Assumption: not from the README — keeping the diff to exactly one new file, per scope. The
orchestrator/reviewer can ask for the link later.

Risk

  • Risk: a cited file:line drifts, making the doc unverifiable → Fallback: the throwaway
checker in task 6 must exit 0 before the commit; any citation it rejects is removed or fixed, not
    guessed.
  • Risk: claiming reachability that the source does not support (e.g. calling massive/ a
user feature) → Fallback: every reachability claim carries the grep that proves it, or is
marked [INFERENCE] with the search named.
  • Risk: accidentally staging work/ or a decompiled* tree → Fallback: git status --short
before the commit must list exactly docs/USE-CASES.md; the extraction lives in gitignored
work/ and never enters the index.
  • Risk: editing an existing doc (README/architecture) and tripping
docs/check-architecture-doc.py → Fallback: do not touch those files at all.

DONE

docs/USE-CASES.md — 256 lines, feature matrix of the shipped AutoFirma 1.9 (GUI / CLI / afirma:// protocol / formats / crypto ops / TSA / verification / batch / keystores / app-level) against this repo, every row citing the decompiled tree of tag reference/decompile-1.9, plus a P0/P1/P2 gap list.

Commits: 9bb260a9 (the matrix), 672a393f (two malformed table rows fixed).

Gates: gates: [] in .bullet/bullet.yaml → git diff --check 4c9f6c31..HEAD exit 0. Citation check: 164 source paths / 106 path:line citations in the doc all resolve against the tag (throwaway checker, not committed); markdown tables well-formed.

Findings worth flagging (verified, not from the issue body):

  • TSA has no GUI switch in 1.9 — tsaURL is reachable only through the properties/-config extra-param bag (signers/cades/CAdESExtraParams.java:29, signers/pades/common/PdfExtraParams.java:62).
  • -hformat/-halgorithm are dead parameters and massive/ (directory + pre-hashed signing) has no caller outside its own package → "hash utility" is not a 1.9 user feature.
  • Batch verification is not a 1.9 feature (verify takes one file); the batchsign CLI is a remote client of an @firma server (signers/batch/client/BatchSigner.java:35).
  • 1.9 does not validate ODF/OOXML either (SignValidity.VALIDITY_ERROR.ODF_UNKOWN_VALIDITY).

Prioritized gap list

P0 — required for a full replacement

  1. RFC 3161 timestamping (generate in CAdES/XAdES/PAdES; display existing ones) — §4.3.
  2. PDF/PAdES verification (byte range, DSS, revision/modification checks) — §5; tracked by #11.
  3. Revocation & trust depth in the verifier (OCSP/CRL, CA_NOT_SUPPORTED, expiry reporting) — §5.
  4. Co-signature and counter-signature (leafs/tree) for CAdES/XAdES/PDF — §3.
  5. PAdES end to end: wire the engine into the picker + the visible-signature UI (page, position, size, text) — §2, §4.1.
  6. OOXML in the UI (engine exists, unused) and ODF signing — §2.
  7. FacturaE profile (XAdES with policy, role, production place) — §2.
  8. Embeddable API for a calling web page (postMessage/iframe) — what replaces afirma://sign for e-gov forms — §8.

P1 — parity, with a workaround
9. Signature profiles/params: policies for CAdES/XAdES/PAdES, claimed roles, production place, reason/contact, CAdES explicit/implicit mode, XAdES modes + nodeToSign — §4.2, §4.4.
10. Batch parity: folder drop/recursion, per-file format & operation, overwrite policy — §6.
11. Viewer depth: signer/timestamp tree, format-specific signature details, parameter summary, profile check — §5, §4.4.
12. Certificate handling: filters (sign-only/alias-only/expired), cert import, trust store beyond the bundled FNMT root, richer details — §7.
13. PKCS#12: legacy PBES1 (3DES/RC2) containers, MAC verification — §7.
14. ASiC-S containers — §2.
15. Preferences surface for formats/policies/keystores; default format per file type — §9.

P2 — legacy, JVM/server-bound, rarely needed
16. Generic CMS/PKCS#7, plain XMLDSig, raw PKCS#1 — §2.
17. Pre-hashed / directory-massive signing (massive/ is dead code in 1.9) — §3, §6.
18. JKS/JCEKS/SINGLE stores — §7.
19. ODF/OOXML validation (1.9 does not validate them either), confirm-before-sign, obfuscated stamp, help/about, diagnostics — §4.1, §5, §9.

Not gaps (the browser replaces the mechanism): smart cards and OS/PKCS#11/NSS stores, the afirma:// local socket + its DES/gzip transport, configurator/restore-config, plugins, updater, proxy/VDI preferences, OS integration, remote batch and signandsave to a caller server.

Issue #41 — Explore true AutoFirma use cases → docs/USE-CASES.md feature matrix

Restated goal

Enumerate what the shipped AutoFirma 1.9 can actually do for a user (GUI, CLI,
afirma:// protocol), map each capability to the Java code that implements it in the
decompiled tree of tag reference/decompile-1.9, state our repo's status per row
(DONE / PARTIAL / MISSING / N-A-BROWSER / OUT-OF-SCOPE), and prioritise the gaps
(P0 = required for a full replacement). Output: docs/USE-CASES.md committed + a
prioritized gap list the operator turns into issues.

Done means: the matrix exists and is committed, every row cites a decompiled path as
evidence, every citation resolves and actually contains what the row claims, every
repo-status claim matches the code at the branch base (4c9f6c31), and the P0/P1/P2 gap
list is reproducible from the rows. gates: [] in .bullet/bullet.yaml (the only
configured gate is git diff --check); README/build/test untouched.

State at session start: a previous session already committed the matrix (9bb260a9,
672a393f) but left no plan file and no report. This session audits it rather than
rewriting it.

Scope

Change: docs/USE-CASES.md only — citation and status corrections found by the audit.

Not touched: README.md, src/**, test/**, package.json, Containerfile,
docs/architecture.md, docs/REVERSING-NOTES.md, docs/MCP-DESIGN.md, the tag
reference/decompile-1.9, git history (no rebase/amend/force), main.

Scratch (gitignored, never committed): work/decompiled/**, work/check-*.py,
work/cites.txt, work/show-citations.py, work/issue-41-done-comment.md.

Ordered tasks

  1. Extract the reference tree — git archive reference/decompile-1.9 decompiled | tar -x -C work/
→ verify: ls work/decompiled/sources/es/gob/afirma lists core keystores massive signers signvalidation standalone ui. (already present)
  2. Mechanical citation check — every backtick path token + every :line / :a-b / :a,b-c
spec must exist in the tag tree (or the worktree, for src//scripts//test/).
    → verify: python3 work/check-citations-strict.py exits 0 (165 tokens, 0 unresolved).
  3. Semantic citation check — print the cited source line for every citation and confirm it
contains what the row claims → verify: manual read of the dump; mismatches fixed.
  4. Repo-status check — every DONE/PARTIAL/MISSING row re-derived from the worktree
    (src/lib/sign.ts, src/lib/verify/index.ts, src/lib/pkcs12.ts, src/lib/ooxml.ts,
    src/lib/pades.ts, src/lib/components/FileDrop.svelte, …) → verify: rg on the symbol
named in the row's evidence cell.
  5. Fix what the audit finds, commit with Refs #41 → verify: git diff --check 4c9f6c31..HEAD exits 0.
  6. Gates — git diff --check (gate list is empty) → exit 0.
  7. Report — ../meta/issue-41.report.md; issue comment if the forge API is reachable.

Findings so far (audit in progress)

  • standalone/ui/SignPanel.java:415 was cited as counter-sign GUI evidence; line 415 is a
COSIGN assignment for the XAdES/CAdES branch. The counter-sign GUI path is
    SignPanel.java:660 (getCryptoOperation, leaf-vs-tree from
    VALUE_MULTISIGN_COUNTERSIGN_LEAFS) + SignPanelSignTask.java:388,391.
  • §3 "Sign" cited SignPanelSignTask.java:384, which is case COSIGN:; the sign(...) call
    is line 394.
  • massive/MassiveType.java:7-10 points past EOF (file has 9 lines incl. trailing blank);
    enum body is :5-8.
  • §7 PKCS#12 row and gap-list item 13 claim legacy PBES1 (3DES/RC2) and MAC verification are
MISSING. The branch base 4c9f6c31 implements both (src/lib/pkcs12.ts:89-95 PBES1 table,
    :208 verifyMac, src/lib/legacy-pbe.ts primitives, tests src/lib/pkcs12.test.ts:164+).
README's "PKCS#12 support" section (lines 113-120) still says the opposite — stale README,
    reported, not edited
    (out of this issue's scope).

Open questions (assumption being proceeded on)

  • Does the substrate want the matrix regenerated? No — it is already committed and its
citations check out; regenerating would churn a 256-line file for no gain. Auditing and
correcting is the smaller verifiable diff.
  • Are the [INFERENCE] rows trustworthy? Yes for the three marked ones: TSA has no GUI
switch (tsaURL only in the extra-params bag), -hformat/-halgorithm are dead CLI
parameters, massive/ has no caller outside its own package — all re-checked by rg.
  • Is the issue comment mandatory? The comment channel needs $FJ_HOST/$FJ_REPO and the
forge token. Neither FJ_* env var is exported in this session, and BULLET_TOKEN
    (user gotoi-agent) returns 404 {"message":"The target couldn't be found."} for
EduarD3V/AutoFirme (private to that account). So the comments go into the plan/report
files instead, with the failure recorded verbatim.

Risk

  • Risk: the audit finds the matrix citation-dense enough that a full re-verification
blows the 45-minute budget. Fallback: verify mechanically (done, 165 tokens) + read the
    citation dump + spot-check the highest-priority rows (P0 sections 2/3/4/5) semantically.
  • Risk: a "fix" introduces a wrong citation. Fallback: every edit is re-checked by
re-running work/check-citations-strict.py -v and reading the printed line.
  • Risk: nothing else can break — no code, no test, no build file is touched; the gate list
is empty and the only configured gate is git diff --check.
# Issue #41 — Explore true AutoFirma use cases → `docs/USE-CASES.md` feature matrix ## Restated goal Enumerate what the **shipped AutoFirma 1.9** can actually do for a user (GUI, CLI, `afirma://` protocol), map each capability to the Java code that implements it in the decompiled tree of tag `reference/decompile-1.9`, state our repo's status per row (`DONE` / `PARTIAL` / `MISSING` / `N-A-BROWSER` / `OUT-OF-SCOPE`), and prioritise the gaps (P0 = required for a full replacement). Output: `docs/USE-CASES.md` committed + a prioritized gap list the operator turns into issues. **Done means:** the matrix exists and is committed, every row cites a decompiled path as evidence, every citation resolves and actually contains what the row claims, every repo-status claim matches the code at the branch base (`4c9f6c31`), and the P0/P1/P2 gap list is reproducible from the rows. `gates: []` in `.bullet/bullet.yaml` (the only configured gate is `git diff --check`); README/build/test untouched. State at session start: a previous session already committed the matrix (`9bb260a9`, `672a393f`) but left no plan file and no report. This session audits it rather than rewriting it. ## Scope **Change:** `docs/USE-CASES.md` only — citation and status corrections found by the audit. **Not touched:** `README.md`, `src/**`, `test/**`, `package.json`, `Containerfile`, `docs/architecture.md`, `docs/REVERSING-NOTES.md`, `docs/MCP-DESIGN.md`, the tag `reference/decompile-1.9`, git history (no rebase/amend/force), `main`. Scratch (gitignored, never committed): `work/decompiled/**`, `work/check-*.py`, `work/cites.txt`, `work/show-citations.py`, `work/issue-41-done-comment.md`. ## Ordered tasks 1. **Extract the reference tree** — `git archive reference/decompile-1.9 decompiled | tar -x -C work/` → verify: `ls work/decompiled/sources/es/gob/afirma` lists `core keystores massive signers signvalidation standalone ui`. *(already present)* 2. **Mechanical citation check** — every backtick path token + every `:line` / `:a-b` / `:a,b-c` spec must exist in the tag tree (or the worktree, for `src/`/`scripts/`/`test/`). → verify: `python3 work/check-citations-strict.py` exits 0 (165 tokens, 0 unresolved). 3. **Semantic citation check** — print the cited source line for every citation and confirm it contains what the row claims → verify: manual read of the dump; mismatches fixed. 4. **Repo-status check** — every `DONE`/`PARTIAL`/`MISSING` row re-derived from the worktree (`src/lib/sign.ts`, `src/lib/verify/index.ts`, `src/lib/pkcs12.ts`, `src/lib/ooxml.ts`, `src/lib/pades.ts`, `src/lib/components/FileDrop.svelte`, …) → verify: `rg` on the symbol named in the row's evidence cell. 5. **Fix what the audit finds**, commit with `Refs #41` → verify: `git diff --check 4c9f6c31..HEAD` exits 0. 6. **Gates** — `git diff --check` (gate list is empty) → exit 0. 7. **Report** — `../meta/issue-41.report.md`; issue comment if the forge API is reachable. ## Findings so far (audit in progress) - `standalone/ui/SignPanel.java:415` was cited as counter-sign GUI evidence; line 415 is a `COSIGN` assignment for the XAdES/CAdES branch. The counter-sign GUI path is `SignPanel.java:660` (`getCryptoOperation`, leaf-vs-tree from `VALUE_MULTISIGN_COUNTERSIGN_LEAFS`) + `SignPanelSignTask.java:388,391`. - §3 "Sign" cited `SignPanelSignTask.java:384`, which is `case COSIGN:`; the `sign(...)` call is line 394. - `massive/MassiveType.java:7-10` points past EOF (file has 9 lines incl. trailing blank); enum body is :5-8. - §7 PKCS#12 row and gap-list item 13 claim legacy PBES1 (3DES/RC2) and MAC verification are `MISSING`. The branch base `4c9f6c31` implements both (`src/lib/pkcs12.ts:89-95` PBES1 table, `:208` `verifyMac`, `src/lib/legacy-pbe.ts` primitives, tests `src/lib/pkcs12.test.ts:164+`). README's "PKCS#12 support" section (lines 113-120) still says the opposite — **stale README, reported, not edited** (out of this issue's scope). ## Open questions (assumption being proceeded on) - *Does the substrate want the matrix regenerated?* No — it is already committed and its citations check out; regenerating would churn a 256-line file for no gain. Auditing and correcting is the smaller verifiable diff. - *Are the `[INFERENCE]` rows trustworthy?* Yes for the three marked ones: TSA has no GUI switch (`tsaURL` only in the extra-params bag), `-hformat`/`-halgorithm` are dead CLI parameters, `massive/` has no caller outside its own package — all re-checked by `rg`. - *Is the issue comment mandatory?* The comment channel needs `$FJ_HOST`/`$FJ_REPO` and the forge token. Neither `FJ_*` env var is exported in this session, and `BULLET_TOKEN` (user `gotoi-agent`) returns `404 {"message":"The target couldn't be found."}` for `EduarD3V/AutoFirme` (private to that account). So the comments go into the plan/report files instead, with the failure recorded verbatim. ## Risk - **Risk:** the audit finds the matrix citation-dense enough that a full re-verification blows the 45-minute budget. **Fallback:** verify mechanically (done, 165 tokens) + read the citation dump + spot-check the highest-priority rows (P0 sections 2/3/4/5) semantically. - **Risk:** a "fix" introduces a wrong citation. **Fallback:** every edit is re-checked by re-running `work/check-citations-strict.py -v` and reading the printed line. - **Risk:** nothing else can break — no code, no test, no build file is touched; the gate list is empty and the only configured gate is `git diff --check`.

DONE — docs/USE-CASES.md (259 lines) committed on issue/41-explore-true-autofirma-use-cas.

Commits: 9bb260a9 (matrix), 672a393f (malformed table rows), 3a6f218c (citation/status audit
fixes), dffef06a (P2 gap numbering). All Refs #41, nothing pushed.

Gates (.bullet/bullet.yaml gates: [], so the configured gate is the diff check):

  • git diff --check 4c9f6c31..HEAD → exit 0.
  • throwaway citation checker: 169 backtick path tokens, every :line / :a,b-c spec resolves in
the tag tree (reference/decompile-1.9) or the worktree for src/ → 0 unresolved.
  • table integrity: 14 tables, every row matches its header cell count.
  • build/test untouched (no src/**, test/**, package.json, Containerfile change).

What the doc has: entry points (GUI/CLI/afirma://), signable formats + registry
(AOSignerFactory), crypto operations, PDF/PAdES and XAdES options, RFC 3161, viewer +
validation codes, batch, keys/certificates, protocol and app-level features — each row with a
file:line citation into the decompiled 1.9 tree and our status
(DONE/PARTIAL/MISSING/N/A-BROWSER/OUT-OF-SCOPE).

Prioritized gap list

P0 — required for a full replacement

  1. RFC 3161 timestamping: generate in CAdES/XAdES/PAdES, display existing ones — §4.3.
  2. PDF/PAdES verification: byte range, DSS strings, revision/modification checks — §5
(src/lib/verify/index.ts:29 reports PDF as unsupported; tracked by #11).
  3. Revocation and trust depth in the verifier: OCSP/CRL, CA_NOT_SUPPORTED,
CERTIFICATE_EXPIRED — §5 (CORS is the known constraint).
  4. Co-signature and counter-signature (leafs / whole tree) for CAdES/XAdES/PDF — §3.
  5. PAdES end to end: wire src/lib/pades.ts into the picker and build the visible-signature UI
    (page, position, size, text) — §2, §4.1.
  6. OOXML in the UI (engine exists, unused) and ODF signing (missing) — §2.
  7. FacturaE profile: XAdES with policy, invoice role, production place — §2, §4.2.
  8. Embeddable API for a calling web page (postMessage/iframe) — what replaces afirma://sign
    for e-gov forms — §8.

P1 — parity, a workaround exists
9. Signature profiles/parameters: policies, claimed roles, production place, reason/contact,
CAdES explicit/implicit, XAdES modes and nodeToSign — §4.2, §4.4.
10. Batch parity: folder drop/recursion, per-file format and operation, overwrite policy — §6.
11. Viewer depth: signer/timestamp tree, format-specific details, parameter summary, profile check — §5.
12. Certificates: filters (sign-only/alias-only/expired), trust-store import/management beyond the
bundled FNMT root, richer details — §7.
13. ASiC-S containers — §2.
14. Preferences surface for formats/policies/keystores and default format per file type — §9.

P2 — legacy, JVM- or server-bound, rarely needed
15. Generic CMS/PKCS#7, plain XMLDSig, raw PKCS#1 — §2.
16. Pre-hashed / directory-massive signing (massive/ is dead code in 1.9) — §3, §6.
17. JKS/JCEKS/SINGLE stores — §7.
18. ODF/OOXML validation (1.9 does not validate them either), confirm-before-sign, obfuscated stamp,
help/about, diagnostics — §4.1, §5, §9.

Not gaps: smart cards, OS/PKCS#11/NSS stores, the afirma:// local-socket protocol and its
encryption, configurator/restore-config, plugins, updater, proxy/VDI preferences, OS integration and
per-browser detection incl. Safari — the browser replaces the mechanism (AGENTS.md).

Notes for the operator

  • Three [INFERENCE] marks in the doc, each with the search behind it: the TSA has no GUI switch
(tsaURL lives only in the extra-params bag), the CLI -hformat/-halgorithm are dead
parameters, and massive/ has no caller outside its own package.
  • README.md "PKCS#12 support" (lines 113-120) is stale: it says PBES1 containers are rejected and
the MAC is not verified, but 4c9f6c31 implements both (src/lib/pkcs12.ts:89-95, :208,
src/lib/legacy-pbe.ts). Reported, not edited — not this issue's surface.

Relaunch after the dead session — no edits, no new commits.

Re-verified the committed state at dffef06a independently (own checkers, not the previous session's):

  • working tree clean; git diff $(git merge-base main HEAD)..HEAD --stat = docs/USE-CASES.md | 258 + only (the src/ churn in git diff main..HEAD is main moving past the branch base 4c9f6c31, not this branch).
  • 171 backticked citation tokens + every :line / :a-b / :a,b-c spec resolve (decompiled tag tree or worktree); no line number past EOF.
  • 14 tables, own cell counter: one apparent mismatch at L54 is a false positive — correctly escaped \| inside rg "BROWSER\|getBrowser".
  • spot-read of 7 citations in the P0 sections and the 8 afirma:// handler lines: each contains what its row claims.
  • P0 rows re-derived from HEAD: no RFC 3161 anywhere in src/, no cosign|countersign, no *odf*, no ocsp|crl in the verifier, PDF still unsupported (src/lib/verify/index.ts:29), PAdES still implemented: false (src/lib/sign.ts:20).
  • git diff --check → exit 0; no closing keyword in the doc.

Deliverable unchanged: docs/USE-CASES.md (259 lines) — matrix + the P0/P1/P2 gap list at §10 and in the DONE comment above. Open for a human: the stale README.md PKCS#12 section, and the BULLET_BASIC basic-auth requirement for the comment API (the fleet prompt's token snippet 404s on this repo).

FIXED: applied 0 new at HEAD d7d61be9 — verdict #4053 lists all 3 findings FIXED, UNFIXED: none; this round re-verified every pin, no new commits needed:
(1) embeddable-API priority rows vs gap list — content 3e29bbe1, pin 590e9ac7 (src/lib/use-cases-doc.test.ts: P0 everywhere, gap item 8 under P0) — verified;
(2) §4.1 visible-signature font/rotation citation — content 3e29bbe1, pin 2c54c7a4 (row cites SignPdfUiPanelPreview.java:565-574; LAYER2_FONTFAMILY/FONTSIZE/FONTCOLOR + SIGNATURE_ROTATION) — verified;
(3) stale CERTIFICATE_EXPIRED gap item — content 3e29bbe1, pin d7d61be9 (gap text + expired-cert certValidity: fail test at now 2034-06-01) — verified.
Re-runs this round (clean tree at d7d61be9): work/check-citations-strict.py → 170 tokens all resolve, exit 0; work/check-tables.py → 14 tables consistent, exit 0; git diff --check 4c9f6c31..HEAD → exit 0; vitest src/lib/use-cases-doc.test.ts src/lib/verify.test.ts → 21/21 pass.
UNFIXED: none for #41. Pre-existing red outside this branch: src/lib/xades.test.ts (4) + src/lib/App.test.ts (1) — xmlsec1 1.3.12 prints Verification status: OK, parser at src/test/fixtures.ts:163 matches only ^status: / ^(OK|FAIL)$. Those files have 0 diff lines over 4c9f6c31..HEAD; fixing means editing src/test/**, out of #41 scope (gate: build/test untouched). Worth its own issue.
