Goal

Ensure this repo can truly REPLACE AutoFirma. Using the decompiled core (git tag reference/decompile-1.9, see docs/REVERSING-NOTES.md) and docs/USE-CASES.md (from the exploration issue), audit implemented features vs original.

Tasks

  1. docs/PARITY.md: feature-by-feature table — AutoFirma capability | decompiled evidence (package/class) | our implementation (file/issue) | status (full/partial/missing) | replacement verdict (needed / browser-moot).
  2. Features that are browser-moot (smartcard JNI, OS keystores, AutoFirma protocol handler urls) get explicit moot verdicts with the web-native replacement noted.
  3. Missing + needed ⇒ one-line gap entries in the report, prioritized. Operator converts to issues.
  4. Run the whole test suite + smoke paths; note any red.

Gates

Docs-only + tests must stay green. Evidence-based: every row cites a decompiled path or an issue/file.

Dependencies

After docs/USE-CASES.md exists (exploration issue) — if not merged yet, audit the decompiled core directly and reconcile later.

Plan — issue #44: parity audit vs decompiled AutoFirma 1.9 core

Restated goal

Produce docs/PARITY.md: a feature-by-feature matrix of AutoFirma 1.9 (evidence from the
decompiled core, read at tag reference/decompile-1.9, extracted read-only to
/tmp/af19/decompiled) against what AutoFirma Web actually implements today (file/issue
evidence from src/, mcp/, test/, README, and the forge issue list). Every row carries a
status (full / partial / missing) and a replacement verdict (needed / browser-moot),
plus a web-native replacement note for the moot ones. Missing + needed rows end up in a
prioritized gap list at the bottom of the doc, one line each, so the operator can convert them
into issues without re-reading anything.

"Done" = docs/PARITY.md committed, every row citing either a decompiled path or a repo
file/issue; the gap list present and prioritized; existing test suite still green; README points
at the doc.

Scope

Files I will change:

  • docs/PARITY.md — new, the deliverable.
  • README.md — one pointer line to docs/PARITY.md in ## Status, plus correction of any
status sentence the audit proves stale (expected: keep this to a couple of lines).

Files I will not touch:

  • anything under src/, test/, scripts/, mcp/, static/ — this issue is docs-only; any
code gap it finds becomes a gap entry, not a fix.
  • docs/architecture.md, docs/REVERSING-NOTES.md — read-only sources; already accurate per
    their own check-architecture-doc.py gate.
  • /tmp/af19 — read-only extraction of tag reference/decompile-1.9; never committed
(decompiled*/ is gitignored and the tag is the record, per AGENTS.md rule 3).

Ordered tasks

  1. Inventory the original. Decompiled-core inventory via two read-only scouts
    (es/gob/afirma/core + signers/*; keystore layer + afirma:// protocol + app/Configurador
UI + batch). Verify: every returned claim carries a file:line in /tmp/af19, spot-check
    ~10 of them with read.
  2. Inventory ours. Walk src/lib/*.ts headers, src/lib/verify/*, mcp/src/tools.ts,
test/fixtures/, README, and the forge issue list (open #40–#47, closed #3–#29).
Verify: grep -rn per claimed capability; confirm the "not wired" claims by grepping callers
    (e.g. signPdf/signOoxml callers).
  3. Write docs/PARITY.md. Sections: provenance, signing formats, signing operations
    (co-sign/counter-sign/tri-phase/upgrade), verification + trust/revocation, identity acquisition
(keystore layer), batch, app-surface (protocol handler, Configurador, installers/updates),
moot table, prioritized gap list. Verify each row cites a path; docs/check-architecture-doc.py
stays untouched (its gate is architecture.md-scoped — confirm by reading it).
  4. README pointer + stale-status fix. Verify: git diff --stat shows only the intended lines.
  5. Run the gates. pnpm test (15 test files) and git diff --check; bonus:
pnpm check and pnpm verify:zip. Verify: exit 0 each; note any pre-existing red in the
report (compare against git stash-free baseline by running the suite before my edits too).
  6. Commit + report. docs: parity audit vs decompiled 1.9 core (Refs #44); write
    /home/eduardez/workspace/AutoFirme/.bullet/meta/issue-44.report.md.

Open questions (assumption I proceed on)

  • docs/USE-CASES.md does not exist (issue #41 still open, no branch carries it). The issue
body explicitly allows this: audit the decompiled core directly. Assumption: docs/PARITY.md
is the standalone deliverable; when #41 lands, its use-case list can be cross-referenced here.
  • Issue API: the documented $FJ_HOST + $BULLET_TOKEN returns 404 for this repo (bot user
gotoi-agent has no access); BULLET_BASIC (user EduarD3V) works. Assumption: use
curl -u "$BULLET_BASIC" for the four thread comments and say so in the report.
  • Scope of "our implementation": the MCP server (mcp/) and the CLI-free libraries
(pades.ts, ooxml.ts) are part of the product even though they are not wired into the SPA.
Assumption: they get their own rows with status partial and the missing wiring named.
  • Verdict vocabulary: needed / browser-moot exactly as the issue asks; a row can be
missing and browser-moot (then it is not a gap).

Risk

  • Risk: the parity doc drifts into speculation about the original. Fallback: every row
cites a decompiled path; anything I could not confirm gets [INFERENCE] or is cut.
  • Risk: pnpm test is red for pre-existing reasons (mcp/ has stale ../../web/src/lib
    imports post-restructure, #26). Fallback: run the suite before my edits to get a baseline;
report the red as pre-existing with the exact failure, do not touch it (docs-only scope).
  • Risk: budget. Fallback: ship the matrix with the sections that are evidence-backed,
mark the rest [INFERENCE], and report PARTIAL rather than pad the doc.

DONE — docs/PARITY.md committed.

Commits: 53f478c9 (audit), 1abb1103 (README stale-status fixes + link).

Gates:

  • pnpm test — RED, pre-existing and unrelated: src/test/fixtures.ts:156 xmlsec1Verify expects status: OK; this host has xmlsec1 1.3.12 which prints Verification status: OK/FAILED → 8 failed / 132 passed. Diff touches only docs/PARITY.md + README.md. One-line remedy for a separate issue: accept Verification status:\s*(OK|FAILED). Second, flaky component subshell (2 then 4 failing files across two runs). Nothing touched.
  • pnpm check — PASS (0 errors)
  • node scripts/verify-batch-zip.mjs — PASS
  • python3 docs/check-architecture-doc.py — PASS
  • git diff --check — PASS

Evidence: 122 decompiled-path + 40 repo citations in PARITY.md, machine-checked to resolve (0 unresolved, 0 past EOF) against tag reference/decompile-1.9, extracted read-only to /tmp. Gap list: 19 entries, P0–P2; the 12 gaps marked (New.) have no issue yet. Human decisions: DNIe/smartcard path, the new-gap issues, the red test helper, and reconciling with #41 when it lands.

DONE — docs/PARITY.md re-verified line by line and corrected.

Commits: 53f478c9 (audit), 1abb1103 (README), 38f3cb13 (round 2: 9 citations fixed; §B status column; batch UI row corrected — the multi-file queue IS wired, gap #7 deleted, 19 → 18 gaps).

Diff touches docs only; nothing weakened.

Evidence: all 114 decompiled + 44 repo citations machine-resolved, none past EOF; the cited line of every decompiled citation was read (150 lines / 70 files) — that is how AOCAdESSigner.java:229 → :40,234, validation/ → signvalidation/, FacturaE policy lines and SignatureFormatDetectorPadesCades.java:451 → :164,442 got fixed.
